Teen Writer Workshop

The Manitoba Writers’ Guild is offering a teen writer workshop this summer.

$60 per person – includes a Guild Teen Membership entitling you to member benefits, such as discounts on future workshops and a free Reader Reward Card from McNally Robinson Booksellers – valued at $10.

This workshop is for teens who love to write and want to learn about how to begin writing that short story or novel that they’ve been dreaming about. Learn what should be considered before starting (Genre, Story Length, POV, Tense), Story Basics (Character, Setting, Plot) and The Writing Process (brainstorming, outlining, editing and preparing a manuscript for publication. This workshop is not genre specific.

Participants should bring old-fashioned writing tools (pen/pencil and a notebook/binder with paper) for taking notes and completing writing exercises.

There will be a door prize valued at $15.

Your teacher will be Schreyer Ink’s own Casia Schreyer. Casia’s writing credentials include 7 novels or novellas since 2014, this publishing company, and a book review blog. She has a BA in English Literature and has taken courses in creative writing and English grammar.
